Just a quick email to say we arrived back in Morzine no worries. The van ran sweet as a nut and we have to say we’re really chuffed with the van. She really is a cracker and it’s exactly what we were after.

If you’re looking for a high quality and fully customised individual camper conversion then look no further than 8 Ball Campers in East Yorkshire. We fell in love with the idea of a small camper van this summer after introducing our 3 year old to camping and decided to buy a VW T5 for conversion.

We looked at dozens of conversion companies online, at shows and then went to visit four different builders to view their work and examples of conversions. 8 Ball stood out from the others mainly due to the all-round quality and attention to detail.

The hand built cabinets are beautifully put together and have a superb aluminium profiled edging where all others we viewed were rubber or laminate. The rest of the materials are superb and the choice of individual options is endless. The inclusion of a RIB seat/bed as part of the standard conversion is a must, as is the superbly functional Austop pop-up roof bed. Little things, like placing the fridge at the very end of the kitchen so you can still reach that chilled bottle of wine once you have the bed folded down!

We made some very specific demands on 8 ball for things such as a rear gas BBQ point, an onboard water tank, diesel heater and some rather quirky design options for our individual leather seats. All of this was taken onboard with relish by the team who seem to be every bit as excited by their projects as the customers and are keen to keep trying out new ideas.

We were involved with every decision throughout the build and kept up to speed with regular updates by phone, email and most importantly by Instagram with some excellent build photo’s and even a time-laps video of our Austop roof being installed.

We’re ecstatic with our new camper and even though it was delivered in winter, we are already using it for day trips to the moors, or the coast and the occasional night away. We have our diesel heater primed and ready for a December trip to visit relatives in France and an Alpine mountain biking holiday in the pipeline for 2016. Bring on the adventures!
